Originally created for Film428: Music Video Production at SCAD under supervising professor Jeff Stephenson.

As soon as I signed up to take this course, I knew I wanted to collaborate with my friend Nathalie (Tallia Pond), whose talent I had admired for some time. We spoke about several of her songs but it was her demo for "Lower it Down" which inspired me the most. The tone and atmosphere were rich and the song, even as a demo, had a certain texture I loved.

We had lengthy conversations about our respective writing processes, and what a Tallia Pond music video should look and feel like. I responded to how intimate yet loose her writing process was, and was able to relate that to my own creative instincts. I was then guided by music video director and SCAD professor Jeff Stephenson to create a treatment deck for the song.

This was my first time directing a music video and it was well out of my creative comfort zone. It was an exciting challenge to create something more experimental than my typical narrative films. I had a wonderful time creating something so unique from this gorgeous song, and I can't sing Tallia's praises enough - she is an excellent collaborator and artist.
