Loving Emma was my senior thesis at SCAD, and it is the product of years spent developing my style as a director and artist, honing my craft, learning how to collaborate with other artists, and getting specific about the kind of films I want to make. I'm deeply grateful to have been able to make this film.

LOGLINE
Haunted by memories of a lost love and unsure of what she truly wants, a young college student spirals through longing and regret as she navigates the fragile space between past and present - stuck between the memory of a connection and the reality of distance.

DIRECTORS STATEMENT
For me, Loving Emma was always about connection and memory. Connection to someone you once loved, and the way you can drown in the memory of that love once it's gone. This project grew out of several scripts I began writing in my time at college, as well as almost two years of my own personal relationships that helped shape who l am as a person and an artist. All of that went into this. There's pieces of myself, my friends, and my past relationships in every frame of this film, and it was incredibly rewarding to write and eventually see it come to life on set and in the editing room.

I can't speak about the film without speaking about my collaborators, most notably Elliot Goulder (Emma), lan Muldoon (Lucas), Director of Photography Wil Franz, and Editor Elizabeth Housey. Each of their contributions stand as a pillar holding up what this film became. Working with such incredible artists gave me confidence in my voice and reaffirmed that I've truly found what I'm meant to do.

I could not have made this film without my friends and collaborators, and I'm immensely proud of what we did. I've received a plethora of positive feedback, and I'm excited for where the film will go on its upcoming festival run.
